INTRODUCING Brian Maxwell. Freelance Graphic Designer & Illustrator.

FF: Hi Brian and welcome to Freelance Faces.

How did you start as a freelancer?

Brian: I had been working as a full time designer for 5 years and needed a change along with a new challenge. I've only been freelancing for a few months. I like to work my own hours and have more freedom as to what type of jobs I partake in.

What do you specialise in?

Print based design, packaging & identity/branding.

What other interests do you have?

I like to illustrate using varying mediums. I am currently working on a series of animal faces using pencil. Photography is another interest, mostly landscapes with big skies.

Since moving to Sydney from Auckland, I have been exposed to the delights of motor biking through the bush of the Blue Mountains.

I regularly ski in NZ and have travelled over to Canada and the US for ski holidays.

How do you usually source freelance work?

Through friends/previous work colleagues who may then refer me onto others and online job sites.

How did you find out about the Freelance Factory and what do you think of the concept?

By doing a Google search in looking to see if there was a community/group already set up for freelancers and came across your site. I think it is an excellent idea, gives freelancers a common place to come together to advertise their services.

FF: Thanks for your time Brian! It's great to have you on board.

Brian is based in Sydney. Register on the Freelance Factory to contact Brian.
