What do you specialise in?
I specialise in composing and producing music for film and TVCs, drawing on my lifelong passion for many genres of music including classical, jazz, electronic/dance, rock and pop. As I am a sound engineer and a bit of an audiophile, I try to stay on the cutting edge of music technology which inspires my creations and enables me to achieve the best possible results.
How did you get into composing and producing music?
I began playing the piano at 5, then picked up the sax a few years later. This led to me playing in a number of bands around Melbourne, DJing, studying music production, sound engineering and advanced music theory. I then found a career which enabled me to combine all these facets of music ... I began composing and producing.
What are you currently working on?
I'm currently writing the music for an Australian feature film by Dave Hawkins - 'Bound by Blue'. I'm also in the final stages of finishing my own dance/electronic E.P.
How do you usually source freelance work?
I usually source my work via word of mouth, and by liaising directly with agencies and freelancers.
How did you find out about the Freelance Factory and what do you think of the concept?
I heard about the Freelance Factory from a friend in the advertising industry. I think the concept is fantastic. It's a great way to meet and collaborate with other freelancers around Australia.
